Viktor Frankl was a Jewish psychiatrist in Germany during the Second World War. His book Man’s Search for Meaning is a description of the horrors he and others experienced in death camps like Auschwitz. More than that, his book is about the ultimate freedom – the one no one can be deprived of no matter where he is or what is happening – the freedom to choose how to respond. Because of his journey into the darkest side of mankind Frankl created Logotherapy, the process of giving meaning to what is happening.
